What does licensing ensure?
It ensures your therapist is well trained in massage therapy and has met all the requirements set forth by the State Medical Board of Ohio. All LMT's (Licensed Massage Therapists) in the State of Ohio are required to complete training at a State approved School of Massage Therapy. The school must provide both practical and theoretical training in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Ethics, Clinical Program and Hygiene.
It also ensures your therapist has taken, passed and been certified by the State Medical Board of Ohio, to have achieved at least a score of 75% or better or the Massage Therapy exam.
Only those individuals completing all the necessary training and examinations are permitted to use the designation of LMT or Licensed Massage Therapist.
